This attractive blue mineral is rare, premium and royal, making it a popular material for gemological collectors and jewellery makers alike. Due to the internal parallel fibrous structure, chatoyancy (the stunning cat’s eye effect) shows on every single bead. Kyanite rarely exhibits a single shade of colour, colour often shows as areas, zones or blotches for a dramatic appearance. If there is only a mono tone of blue in Kyanite, it is very likely being dyed.
